What the heck is going on?
A hello page

My name is Gabe, and I've been doing stuff with technology since I was a child. I got into Linux in grade school, servers and networking early in high school, programming soon after, and then really into engineering in college. I've done a bit of everything:

  • PCB schematic and layout
  • Android app design
  • PHP web design
  • Database design
  • Python on web, GUI, microcontrollers, and data analysis
  • 3D printing
  • Software-defined radio
  • Amateur Radio
  • FPV Quadcopter flying
  • Home automation
  • Server administration
  • FPGA design
  • C, Java, C++, C#, Bash, MATLAB code
  • Photography
  • Video game design
  • and probably more...

However, the one thing I never really got around to doing was showing off the cool stuff that I've done. That is, until now...

I've created this site to show off the cool stuff I've done, somewhat informally, in the form of blog posts. I think being able to tell a story for each project is a good start, and helps soften the blow of failing to complete a project, for one reason or another. I'd like to include pictures of my projects where I can, and link to repos for code, 3D model sites for CAD designs, and other relevant information. Some projects that I'm particularly proud of (or more complete with), I'd like to post on hackaday.io or other public sites under the "GabeMake" moniker.

Additionally, I hope to add some non-project musings (or ramblings) about things I have thoughts about. Maybe it's the challenges of motivation, or the hot technological topics of the year, or how my managerial day job contrasts with my off-the-clock goals.

Anyways, we'll figure it out as we go along. Stay tuned, feel free to subscribe (if I can figure out the self-hosted email distribution system), and keep on making cool stuff!
